Can you testify in court, or write a letter to the court?

I try to stay out of court cases as much as possible. Reports I do send to court will include only the date you began seeing me, how many sessions we did, diagnosis if relevant, the last date I saw you, a statement about whether or not you have cooperated in session, and whether or not, in my opinion, you have met the treatment goals we laid out.

I do not issue opinions on fitness as a parent, or predict whether or not you will be a risk to yourself or others. There are forensic mental health workers who specifically fulfill these kinds of functions for the court. I will do my best to resist all attempts of one client to force me to testify against another, such as a couple I had seen who gets a divorce and one wants to use my testimony against the other.
